What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed certification scheme designed to help organisations protect themselves against the most common cyber threats. It sets out fundamental security controls that businesses should have in place to strengthen their defences.
What does the assessment involve?
The certification process requires completion a self-assessment questionnaire which is reviewed by an independent auditor who evaluates compliance across key areas of cybersecurity including:
- Firewalls
- Secure configuration
- User access controls
- Malware protection
- Security and patch management
